Unless there's love, the world's an empty place.

In the summer of 1971 during the run of Follies, Kurt auditioned for the upcoming revival of On The Town and was cast as Gaby the sailor who falls in love with Miss Turnstyles. During the Boston run he and another actor, Bill Gerber, were let go from the show by the director Ron Field. This was quite a surprise and quite a blow. He did, however, establish important relatinships with Donna McKechnie and Bernadette Peters. After nursing his wounds Kurt rejoined Follies for the last New York performance and traveled to Los Angeles where the show opened in the late summer of '72.
